What we did well, and what we need to improve on.

We learn something new in every game, or as a friend of mine used to say, "We RE-learn something old." Here I'll discuss our games and try to recap any lessons taught by the best teacher: experience. I'll also acknowledge especially good efforts.

"Sometimes the hitter get a hit, sometimes I strike them out, but in neither case does anyone die." - Orlando 'El Duque' Hernandez

Notes from the Triple Crown San Diego Open:

What an outstanding job on defense! We came into this tournament with confidence and a desire to win. It really showed. Once again we went up against the NBC Angels and learned that our level of play has advanced by leaps and bounds. They truly are the team to beat and we are almost there.

Regardless of the outcome of the Championship game, there were only winners! We have come so far. With the Wolrd Series around the corner, playing games like the ones we played in this tournament will make us a top contender.

Thank you to all of the coaches and parents. Without you, we could never do this!

Coach Todd
TOGETHER WE WIN!

General Tips:

Keep the ball in front of you. Even if you don't catch it, it will hold the runner to a single base.

Always back up the play!
No matter where a ball is hit, you should be moving somewhere. Even if the ball is not hit towards you, you should be moving to a back up position in case of an error or overthrow.
